As you may have noticed, a few days back, I removed the adsense ads on my pages, and whatever tiny bit of revenue trickled in was gone. This mornign when I woke up at 2 AM, I went and deleted my analytics tracker, deciding that my web presence will turn over a new leaf. I used to go through the typical rat race to get more traffic or revenue, and the shitty tricks that so many weblogs follow to build “loyalty”.
Now I’m gonna be more focussed on building relationships with people who share even mildly similar interests. And even that doesen’t have to be. Everyone has their own story to tell, and it’s as much fun as listening to some people’s stories as it is telling your own. Honorable mention to Janice, whose response to a simple hello made me believe that this was worthwhile.
I don’t personally know too many people who are into personal online publishing (aka blogging) but as far as I know the whole tradition of using them to let people know what is going on with their life is being completely taken over by a gazillion iphone rumours, cross linking, seo and what not. I shouldn’t bitch much about the blogosphere considering my forthcoming plans. More will come soon on that.

It is very necessary to connect with the people who visit your site. Visitor interaction helps in boosting your hits or site ranking.
You are absolutely right about sharing similar interests with the people. Most of my site visitors are teens, pink addicts, cat owners, pixel lovers and people who love to blog about recent happenings in their life. When it comes to you and me, we are both of the same age.
To increase traffic on my site, I have joined forums, cliques, fanlistings and button exchanges besides leaving messages in people’s tagboards.
A project that deserves to be mentioned here is Despair.nu (http://despair.nu). I haven’t joined the community yet.. but do check it out.
This is just a test
oops! You can delete the “test” message and the current one.

sorry about the morderation queue janice, I think wp suspected you were spamming :\
I have actually started a side project for this. And I wanna actually meet interesting people waves.
I’ll do a bit more promoting myself but i think i’ll actually start going and leaving valuble comments at other people’s sites.
For some reason, none of my friends here ever check this site. Not too many people I know can actually use more of the internet than orkut.
